Don't some Firebirds come with three mini-humbuckers? I figured a St. Vincent was a shrunken Firebird.

    .

Be cautious with mini hums if you like Strat single coils as they can be muddy.

I like the cool switching on the st vincent.

That's what I'm afraid of, I like tele single coils and I love the G&L mfd's. I'm gonna play one for sure before i buy it, i just wanted some info from some of you guys with more experience with them so I know what to listen for.

As someone who played a Les Paul Deluxe for many years and now plays a Tele with a minihumbucker at the neck, I have to say that “muddy” is not what I would call the sound of those pickups in general. Mine have always been snappy and clear.

I like it, but it wouldn't suit me aesthetically... A cool design for young folks, but too modern for this ole goat...

i'd like to try one out... looks like it might work better standing than seated,
but there's only one way to tell for certain.

Given the sounds she makes with them, it’s obviously a capable guitar in the right hands. I’ve seen her live a couple times, a number of years ago when she was touring with David Byrne and then a couple years back at our downtown concert in the park series. She’s a special talent and a hell of a creative player. This thread caught my eye because I just stumbled across her appearance on Austin City Limits last night. If you haven’t seen that one, check it out.

I like the body shape but I have never been a fan of the Music Man headstocks. They look too small to me. It reminds me of David Byrne in that big suit in all the TH 80's videos.

    Stand the guitar neck-upwards.

How I first saw it hanging in the shop.

looked to me like a 1950's pinafore dress.

Annie's got her gun. and it rocks out too.
