Honestly I don't know how popular this is over the pond so raise your hand if you got it, I thought I'd start a thread where we share our playlist with each other.

I would love to hear what you guys listen to so we can exchange playlists.

You need Spotify to listen to my list if you don't have it it's easy to download and there is a free one and also premium one.

Hope you like it, it contains around 330 songs or so that I hold as my ultimate favorite songs to listen to.

Spotify pays artists and writers tenths of a penny per play. Screw Spotify. :)

You actually don't "need" Spotify as in having the app installed or being a subscriber. People can see it through a webpage on their website and they have a free ad-based model for those that don't have a subscription so it's all good. It's a pretty popular product worldwide so share away :)

    Here's a solid playlist with GW's top 100 solos:

    https://open.spotify.com/user/1114067630/playlist/6TKXqCaUoxSF4brgXQSyrz

IME many of the people using Spotify used to pirate music but Spotify is more convenient. The music business was dying due to P2P and piracy so streaming companies like Spotify actually helped.

Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?

    Spotify is sanctioned Napster.

I have it, only for needing to find out what the song playing is. Press the button, let the phone listen to it, and it'll come up with the song tittle. Even works on foreign stuff (Italian opera, instrumentals).

    That's Shazam, not Spotify.

I hear the labels do OK out of Spotify. Maybe artists should be asking their labels for a share.

I already have the cow (man).

99% of the music I will ever want to listen to, I have already paid for so I'm not going to pay for it again, or pay for it to be delivered like a radio station.

I have it, but only to check out new stuff - which I'll then buy if I like - or stuff I already have on vinyl or CD but not on my phone.

I mostly use Tidal now as the sound quality is better through a good stereo ,but the basic idea of music as a utility is great most of the time. I love the ritual of Vinyl and still always use it if i'm on my own at home and 'listening properly'. I think the issue of artist recompense is seperate to the distribution model, i'm sure the labels are getting a decent drink out it...

Ok, I knew about Shazam. I thought I missed a new feature of Spotify.

Spotify is great for me for discovering all sorts of artists and recordings I don't have. I'm not getting involved with their royalty issues. Using or not using Spotify will change nothing. But if it makes you feel better......suit yourself.

I was going to try it but for some reason I didn't. Maybe they wanted too much info or something. But I do use Pandora. That one I like

Pandora is more like radio, Spotify is on demand. If you have Facebook, you can just login with it. Give it a try :)
