Are socks an appropriate topic for a guitar forum?

But that would clash horribly with brown shoes!

Over here ‘black socks’ is slang for very orthodox Protestant Christian people.

    How about a tie?

I hate wearing ties, but if I wear one, I try to wear something semi-colorful, without going nuts. No one has ever complained lol.

I been wearin' Sock Guy socks for years. My favorite pair are biohazard orange/yellow with the appropriate warning symbols.

I tried to buck the 'odd sock' system by buying only black socks but the universe immediately tried to restore the old order. As the socks get older, some are faded by the washing process and go a little gray. These are not a good match for new black socks.

Also, I don't always buy the exact same sock, so now I'm trying to pair socks that only have minor differences. This is not as easy as pairing socks that have obvious partners because they are both bright yellow.

In theory, I could wear odd socks and nobody would ever know. But I'd know.

I think the only solution might be to buy an entire drawer-full of black socks and start again. :(

I'd wear Tabi sox in the winter if they made 'em in size 14. Somewhere stashed away are a tiny pair of Tabi...that somebody gave my mother when I was born. As my folks were stationed in Japan at the time, that was appropriate.

My week-day sox are Gold Toe brand 'quarter height' (they come up just above my ankles), white. I just don't give a damn about whether my sox match anything or not. I have a drawer full of them and I roust them out and buy new annually. I do have a separate drawer with non-white sox but except for bicycling, that drawer is only opened for weddings and funerals.

When not at work or not working out in the yard, I go barefoot or wear flips/zori (no sox).
