I've seen and heard of people using their back pants pockets for things like their wallet and smartphone. I've never used my back pockets for such things, and I'm not sure why I'd want to - I'd think it would be uncomfortable to sit when something like my wallet is in a back pocket. And when I see people using their back pocket for their smartphone, I always wonder why.. I'd think you'd be risking damaging your phone if you sit on it.

i learned a long time ago when i lived in atlanta to keep my wallet in my front pocket that way it wouldnt get pick pocketed. and a chiropractor told me keeping a wallet in your back pocket while you sit down will throw your back off by however thick your wallet is.

I spend most of my working life in a vehicle and a wallet in your back pocket will cripple you in short order. Your butt and your back do not like it!

I never really thought of using the back pockets in the first place. Always seemed like probably a bad idea. Plus it seemed like it would be easier to reach my wallet & things in the front pockets.

Wallet goes in the front pocket, but I drop my phone in back from time to time.

Been carrying my buildfold in my back pocket for 65 years. No problems or issues and am not crippled. Never been uncomfortable at all.

I've never thought of using a back pocket for a wallet, so I'm curious, why the back pocket?

That's what the back pocket was made for. Almost every one I have ever known used one of the back pockets for their build fold. I use the left side. I know some wearied people use the right side. LOL

Well, yeah, it always seemed to me that having anything in a back pocket could make sitting uncomfortable.. LPBlue has confirmed this, and heltershelton said a chiropractor told him that keeping a wallet in a back pocket will throw your back off. How is this outrageous?

The only things I put in my back pockets are keys and change.

You might think that sitting on keys on all day would hurt but it doesn't!

Left back pocket for wallet, right back pocket for my bandanna (persistent sinus trouble). It's a big old biker wallet on a chain, wouldn't work well in a front pocket. On long distance drives it sometimes has to come out of the pocket and next to me on the seat.

Years ago me and my girlfriend got blocked in a small tower by a small group of teenager thugs. In between trying to protect her and standing against 3 physically weak guys, yet being physically weak myself too and being unarmed, one of them pushed me and another mugged my phone out of my back pocket... went to the police, cops eventually caught them for another mugging case, court let them free for being underaged (these days you have no maturity to face the law, but you do to violate it). Lesson learned, never ever again bringing stuff in the back pockets where they're vulnerable to pickpockets.

Kinda wanna make sure you know which table you're laying on sunny side up, to avoid some really awkward conversation with your "Chiropractor." :)
