I play pop/rock mostly, with some influences of grunge and classic rock too.

I write my music at home, in my music room, which has a big grey wall, hence "the grey room" cuz thats how I call it. But since that one is taken (as most names that make sense are)... I have to figure out another one.

But... I think I came up with one.

My (for now) one man band will be called: The Lost Picks.

I think in some way it reflects the fact that my music is home made, like most lost picks it lives under my couch, or over a table, lost in a carpet, and talks about things I feel in there at home, when I have time to really think about things. Sounds boring, not funny, but I think my music is not really happy either.

Thanks a lot for all the help, it really helped :)

When pressed for a band name for an unexpected gig, my bandmates just stood there with blank stares. Rather than be "The Band with No Name", I decided on "Designation: Unknown"...a clever way of stating the very same thing :).

A band name you only have to figure out once (maybe twice). Naming instrumental songs is ever more "fun".

my high school band was runway 501 because I always wore 501 levis jeans. and it just kinda stuck.

my metal band is named Carvello. I used to live in a loft with the other guitar player and we would play mini golf in our house banking balls off the roof from the loft down to the living room under us, and we would try to get the balls into the fire place. it became lee carvallos putting challenge from the simpsons. we tweaked it to Carvello because thats the way it was printed on our first flyer. we just kinda rolled with it.

the there is the old tops. the guy I play with in that band has really nice hair.. so I called him old top forever. it stuck. we started to jam, I said I guess we are the old tops now. we both laughed and it stuck. its from king of the hill. its what Hanks boss calls hank.

so yeah. dont over think it.

Coming up with catchy names was fun but we couldn't agree on the format.
    For example:
    I picked Overkill
    My buddy wanted The Overkills
Punk influenced bassist wanted Over and The Kills

    We eventually became Project Overkill.

Made me laugh. Reminded me of one of my brothers old bowling teams. They were amateurs, but they all averaged over 205. They were pretty good. I subbed in for them at a tournament one day. I walk into the place and see them sitting at a table...just waiting. Two guys had on T shirts, the other two had short sleeve button ups. But somewhere on the shirts, they all had their team name, “Dixie Wrecked”.

Not recognizing it immediately, I asked why they chose that name. And almost as if it were on cue, a voice came over the PA and said, “Dixie Wrecked on lane 4....Dixie Wrecked”.

I lost it and they all just smiled and started gathering their stuff.

I think Trent Reznors, Nine Inch Nails, is pretty cool. So, think hardware.

    2x4
    The Screws
    Electrical Box
    Plumbers Crack
    Caulk (he he)
    600 grit

My dance band is called, Solid Gold, after the cheesey dance show.
