im lookin to buy a vibe pedal now. what are all your recomendations for the best value one out there. i dont want to break the bank, but im not afraid to spend a bit either, if it's worth it. ( just not the ridiculous amounts that some of these pedals cost!)

I just got a rotovibe off ebay for $60 shipped. I'll see what it is like when it gets here.

Danelectro Cool Cat vibe. With 2 simple mods, all the issues are gone.

    Hi Ckim,

I have a Cool Cat Vibe,

What are the issues - and mods you refer to?

Are they to do with the slight volume hike, and the slight delay with effect kicking in?
    - neither of those worry me toooo much TBH, but all the same, those charactersistics might stop me from wholeheartedly recomending the CC Vibe to the OP/Geetar.

But I'm always keen to mod -esp if it's a simple mod, or two - if you would care to expand !

Yep. They deal with the volume spike and the effect delay.

The volume spike, all you do is wire in a pot between output and the switch. wiper goes to Out on the switch, one lug goes to out on the pcb, and the other goes to ground.

As for the delay, here's the mod that will fix it. Scroll down a bit; if you're handy with a soldering iron, it's a very very easy mod to do.

geetar I've got a Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe. It's not in my line up anymore but I thought it was well worth the $140 I paid. Has a nice throb to it. Check out this link of the audio samples.

was searching my local listings and found a roger mayer voodoo vibe junior, normally retail for around €350 ( $480) and its going for €180 ( around $240). thats alot more then i really intended to spend... but it's one of the best and about half price.

still would like more suggestions though, thanks for everything so far!

Yeah, have to second that. I run a T-Rex Viper but a buddy of mine has one of those Soul Vibes, and it's a great vibe for the coin. I'm into my Viper for about $150, he probably has half of that into his BBE pedal. If you can get by without old-school photocell technology that's probably the one.

Here was my thinking. I use a vibe for maybe 4 out of 30 songs, which means I DON'T use it for 26 out of 30 so semi-inexpensive and true bypass is a must. Soul Vibe + Fulldrive II+ any wah will do all the Hendrix and Trower songs you can play.

I have a Dano Chicken Salad that sounds pretty good considering it's price and build quality. You can find them for around 15 bucks used. There is a trim pot inside that is cool.

If I gigged with it, I'd want another one as backup.

Check out TC Electronics new Vibe pedal. True Bypass & very reasonable. I'm trying not to pull the trigger on buying one myself! I have way too many pedals as it is, but I really dug these at this years NAMM

a word of advice: The voodoo labs vibe, pickle vibe, dunlop univibe, bbe soul vibe, these are not true univibe pedals. A univibe clone will utilize LDRs to create its pulsating effect; these pedals, although they do mimic the effect fairly well, are more along the lines of a modded phaser type pedal.

Ckim715, this may work out the best for him considering he is only using it about 15 to 20% of the time. I don't think he is looking for a hight quality reproduction, just something that will give him the best sound for the buck for the little amount of time he uses it for

I'll second that. Love my Soul Vibe. Gets me that sweet Trower/Hendrix sound no problem. Picked it up new on Amazon for $60.
