    Hi everybody,

I'm new here this is my first post.

I've just taken out a set of SCN pickups from my 50th anniversary Strat, Alder body rosewood fingerboard, and fitted them to my MIM 70s Strat, Ash body maple neck.

The SCN's were fitted to my 50th anniversary Strat in or around 2007. I found the pickups to be rather splendid, but I wasn't entirely happy with the Strat I put them in.

So, fast forward a quick 10 years and they are now in my MIM 70's Strat. Wow what a difference over the stock pickups. Far more tonal range, touch sensitivity is amazing and virtually completely noiseless.

I just wish I had another set to pop into my rather bland 50th Strat.

    Cheers,

    Nick

I have a set of Microcoils in my Strat, they are fantastic. Mr Lawrence's designs are still light years ahead of other companies.

I have a set in my '91 Strat Plus...great pickups, but modern sounding than vintage. I like them better than the Kinman AVn-Blues set they replaced.

I love them for live work.
They're dead quiet, and still sound pretty stratty.

They get a lot of hate.
    Not sure why.
They do sound a little hotter, and more rounded on the top end. To my ears.

    Hey, thanks for the replies.

Yeah different than stock pickups. Very playable and still Stratty. They seem better today than they did yesterday. My ears must have changed a bit overnight.

Standard Microcoils or L-45s for completely noiseless. I can't imagine using anything else. But you must want a full-sounding single coil, not the wimpy low-end and mid-scoop of a vintage style Fender(y) pickups.
