Umm....to me, hopeless tone ignoramus that I am, it means "that sound that my Strat makes when I plug it into a big Fender amp". Your definition may vary....:D

Andrea, if you want that Fender sound, save your money and get a DRRI. Those sounds really only exist in the classic circuits. Do you want a simulation, or the real thing?

Even Fender makes simulations. The Hot Rod and Blues series of amps are close , but no cigar.

Get a classic circuit.Princeton Reverb, Deluxe Reverb, Vibrolux Reverb, Super Reverb, Twin Reverb. The reissues are very close to the originals.

And my complaint with Behringer is not necessarily build quality or even the sound (I could make one sound fine). It's the fact that Behringer is a known intellectual property thief. It's like buying a stolen car that has a new name put on it.

Fezz, I both hoped and feared that you would say that.... I know, deep down, that I won't be satisfied (cue Muddy Waters) until I get one...

Fender(ish) is a relative term, as we all hear differently.

To me, the Bugera V series clean tones are rounder, fatter and have more punch than a "pure" Fender clean tone. Especially the V55, which is powered by 6 series tubes, rather than EL series, like the V22.

That said, one mans (or in this case, womans) bright and chimey is another persons shrill and harsh.
So much for that can of worms. :whistling: :D

@Mansonienne - Only you can decide if the Bugs tone is right for you, though I will offer this bit of info .....
Bugera amps LOVE a graphic EQ in the effects loop. Adding one can completely transform the tone of the amp and give you virtually endless tonal possibilities.

But dont tell anyone, that will be our secret ;)

Years ago, I was standing in soundcheck music(local store)
Tech guy walks in with the chasis for a fender head...
They bolt it up, plug it in, plug it up...
Bill grabs his Tele and pulls of a few bars...
    I was mesmerized...
Thought (self), boy oh boy gotta get that tone...
    Truth being...
    Bills hands
    Bills years
    Bills shop
Few hundred bucks for that ancient raggedy head...
Few hundred bucks for that cab...
    And
Being caught off guard at 08:30 in the morning
    Oh well...

Spanky, warm, round and full. that's what I think of when plugging a Strat into a big (22 Watts or more) Fender amp.

Fezz is right, get a DRRI and you'll be in heaven.

Strats into big Fender amps. On the right (Jimmy) a Twin. On the left (me) a Super Reverb. If you want Fender....buy Fender. :)

Or you could have gotten the amp it ripped off:

A perfect example of Uli Behringer's thievery. Andy Marshall of THD designed this amp. Did all the R&D, spent his time and money perfecting the design, and Behringer's Stooges reverse engineer it, clone it, and put out their own. That's theft. Period.

    ;)

I'm getting a hardwired DRRI soon so the little bug will have some fire breathing protection from those Men in Black.

The DRRI has huge Fender clean headroom. :)

Jimmy is an artist. His work with Chris Isaak (Wicked Game etc.) is classic. One of the greats.
