Because roughly forty years ago Tokai started to build their 'broader known' replicas ;), the idea is to have an annually expanding 'new forty' class Tokai platform to enjoy (mine's due in a couple of weeks! :whistling:).

So (although very rare?) 1977 first, anyone who has a '77 to show? Would love to see some.

Ask me in three years time & I'll have a few contributions to make to the 40th Anniversary Tokai thread.

    1978 kick off :)

    Blonde ST100.

Refretted (asked the luthier to use wire as close to 'equal original', forgot to ask what size when I picked it up o_O), nut changed (bone for brass), 5 way (soft in between positions) Tokai switch 'regrettably' changed into standard 5 way selector switch.

Also, the luthier is persistent and probably right :whistling: at "tuners being non originals".

    Does have 'E's though. ;)

Fine looking guitar. You chose to have a brass nut fitted?

Shame about the original switch though - they were the finest Strat switches ever.

I'll post mine before the end of the month. She's still at the hairdresser.

In three years somebody will probably be celebrating my Tokai's 40th birthday, but not me, thanks to the scrote that stole it in 1995.

My apologies, I should have written it more clearly.

The other way around; brass (factory original) gone, bone now fitted.

Indeed, still have it in my spare parts box.
Tried my best to overhaul it, but couldn't get it working (without cutting out and schratching) properly. :(
