I might sleep in so...It's not difficult, if you want to challenge yourself, play less! Write a melody. Use the opposite tone you usually go for.

I used Chord Pulse, converted the MIDI file to wav. Here's a screen shot showing the changes.

It's in C minor (natural), and borrows the IV and V from the melodic minor progression. In the natural minor, it'd be iv and v. The Eb and Bb are the III and VII. :)

I used to have Chord Pulse ages ago, I'd forgotten all about it, a very useful program for trying out ideas. I think I'll have to find it again.

    Hey Omar.

Why don't you put the track on and play a dozen notes. The key usually reveals itself.
If you cant hear the notes that are in key you should at least be able to hear the notes that are NOT in key.
It will help develop your ear.:)

This was exactly what I did last night, hence I asked, because when I played F major scale, some notes sounded odd. Yes, it's very good for my ears, yet I have to develop an instant scale/progression analyzer :D

I'm finding this progression particularly difficult as I don't hear clear "paragraphs". It seems to loop on itself with that Bb F at the end and resolve in the next go-around.

I found the same thing but couldnt put it into words. But paragraphs says it nicely.
I find that happens quite often with these things but I thoought it was just me

Yes, I only recorded 8 bars exactly as you see above. I'll have to think about that in the future.

Fun for everyone! You know all the notes Monte! You might want to turn up the tracks a little. Your guitar is way out front.
