Does anyone know them? or is there a way to access them? im just not terribly sure because i wanted to compare the specs of my strat with one of the new 'standard' series models made by squier i want to see how they shape up.

Also, are the pickups in my guitar ALNICO magnets? or are the bog standard cr*ppy things? cos it seems that the new 2010 'standard' spec includes alnico's

Affinity Strats come stock w/ ceramic pickups.

In my experience, some of the stock ceramics
sound excellent & others... well, not so much.

mine sound rubbish through the frontman unless i have them on 'humbucker mode' and i take the tone down to about 5 or 6 on the rear conrol (since i use that the most)

Yeah... i just snagged a BSB Tele that sounds surprisingly great
using the bridge pickup but the neck is completely weak & lifeless.

Got a Fat Strat (in Hunter Green ) yesterday too,
which sounds unbelievably rockin' w/ the humbucker,
though the two single coils are absolutely worthless.

Easy enough fixes though... & the
    guitars themselves are wonderful.

Oh man... you have no idea.
    I scored it for a whopping $60.

And the BSB Tele was only $50.

    I f*cking love Craigslist!!!

At the risk of sounding like Captain Obvious,
just replace the crappy pickups w/ good ones.

I'm thinking a GFS Fatbody for the neck of the Tele & maybe
a couple of Overwounds for the single coils of the Fat Strat.

I've only had it for 24 hours but i really can't
believe how awesome the humbucker sounds.

    It's my first Strat w/ a humbucker & i'm lovin' it.

    Bummer... i thought CL
    was everywhere already.

Well, if you ever make it over to
the States, be sure to look it up.

And don't forget to bring some spendin' money. ;)

haha i would take PLENTY of money if i went Stateside for a while and i would also buy a guitar over there, then take it home as luggage in a hard travel case, surely that way i avoid tax and customs?
