I'll go first:
There’s a lot of “wasted space” in there...
See what I did there?
Looks like a "work in progress" shot to me...
This is a work in progress. Hopefully we'll give tge room a remake soon to make more effective use if the space.
thats a fretless bass? tell me about THAT?
Yes it is. It's a $140 chinese Harley Benton, the house brand of Thomann which is one of Europe's largest music stores. Active pickups, long scale. I'm not good at playing it but it's crazy fun and the only bass I own so it does get played a bit.
i love the violin and im amazed at really good violin players. fretless guitars and basses intrigue me. i want one. my pa had a fretless bass but i guess he didnt like it so he put a fretted neck on it.
Get one, they are great fun. Frustrating but fun.
My setup is so rudimentary it doesn't deserve a photo.
Steal one of his basses, tear the frets out, fill the lines with wood putty, sand, finish the fingerboard with transom varnish. Instant Jaco. If I could do it at 20, sure you can manage it now.
That's how they really look, too. I start out looking organized but when I do stuff, I end up with a all kinds of stuff lying around.
This is where the magic happens. In this recording of me making a recording, behold the mighty iPad (with AmpKit app) and Mac (with Audible DAW).
Finally got my live recording/mix rig up and running. Using the DAW as a Tape Machine basically, although I do mix certain groups (BG Vocals) to buses and then send the bus back the board. 24 channels in and out. 32x8x2 Soundtracs Topaz Mixer, 2 each Echo Audiofire12 Interfaces
The rest of the studio is coming along. Next task is to get the large electronic kit into the DAW via midi using 2 drum modules.
