The lineup sounded great - Chad Smith from RHCPs and Glen Hughes from Deep Purple.

I've listened to it a couple of times, and.....I'm not totally excited about it.

It's great technically, but nothing is drawing me in. Yet.

Are there vocals on the album?

Nope. I was hoping Glen would sing some tunes out like he did in Sabbath.

I think it’s alright. Kind of has a different sound than some of his more recent stuff. Throw in the album art/cover and it reminds me of The Crystal Planet.

The opening tracks Energy and Catbot kind of kept me guessing which way he was gonna go, but it really took off with the intro to Thunder High On The Mountain.

I really enjoyed Cherry Blossoms... But that's it.

To be fair though, I don't listen to Joe Satriani much so I didn't really listen to the whole album.

But Cherry Blossoms is a great song in my opinion.

It could be that my tastes have changed, but recent Satch releases haven't left any kind of a mark on me. I've stopped looking out for his new releases. It's all technically great stuff, but...eh.

I'll see about grabbing a listen to this new one at some point. Thanks for the heads up.
