I was recently going mad with gas. Then got my strat dialed in and realized that I only wanted, but did not need. I mean, yeah it's cool to have other stuff. But now I can quietly wait and just play stuff in store. One day I will have the cash, and the thing will be magic, and it will happen.

But before I got to that point, I had the same thing. "Well, I need a PROPER Strat with rosewood because I have a maple one..." It too me a bit to figure out I was buying with my eyes and not my heart/hands.

Then buy and Indiana strat for $40 and see how good you can make it.

When I first got into electric guitars, I didn't really know what I wanted. Now I do, and have three guitars that cover everything along with a fantastic acoustic dread. Now it's want vs need...and I don't really need another guitar.:)

mmmm that sounds like a pretty good time to me.

I would have to say I am in line with the black pup here.

I wouldnt mind a 7 string boden at all.

I also wouldnt mind a strandberg masvidalien 6 string either.

but to be honest, I dont really need any of those because my boden 6 is everything I ever could have wanted in a guitar. I just like the idea of having more than one. my bank doesnt agree with me, but what does that thing know. its a building... it has no idea

  11. What you need... is a Gordon Smith. Little known, underrated, cheaper than Gibson but twice as good. I kid you not. Until you have a GS1 with single P90, your collection, nay, your life will be incomplete.

    Happy hunting!

    Great thread!

I'm at the stage whereby all the guitars I have I wouldn't want to part with and there are a few which I want to mod when I have the cash. Perfect situation really.

But I also now know what I want and have a list of White Whale guitars I will try to catch when I have available funds, Strat Ultra, Warmoth build, Jazzmaster, ESP LTD ST213 etc etc

The thing that excites me the most though is checking facebook and ebay for stuff that doesn't come up often. As what happened with my recent trade, I wasn't wanting to get rid of my LTD EC1000 but the following came up for trade and looked different so I went with it and am more than happy that it's taken the EC1000s place :)
