I have a Classic Series 50's Stratocaster, and want to change the pickups to a set of Seymour Duncan SSL-1's (California 50's) and change the 5 way switch to a 3 way switch.

Is this diagram enough to do so ? (go to page 2)

I was thinking of doing it myself and just want to make sure I will be doing it right.

Any info / advice will be much appreciated.
    Thanks ;)

Hey JJ, you might look at the Seymour Duncan site too.

I think that diagram will work.

If you can solder, you should be good to go. If you are new at it, you might want to practice on some scrap wire first.

Be sure to tin the iron tip and wires... and by " tin " , I mean to melt some solder onto the tip of the iron. Then heat up the wire, apply the solder to the wire, so the wire tip gets coated. Then remove the stick of solder and the hot iron from the wire.

When soldering, be careful with the hot iron. Always heat the wire or the work, then apply the solder. Try not to heat up the work anymore than you have to , in order not to damage anything.

And one more thing... be careful with that hot soldering iron !!

They both look to be the same, yours and the above diagram. FWIW, the three way and five way switches wire exactly the same. They just have a different throw, same poles.
