While talking to people on the evil evil terrible no good Facebook and just generally looking around I found that the DFW area has what looks like a really vibrant punk/ska/hardcore scene. Commented on some stuff, messaged back and forth with one super nice guy who is in middle school education but plays out very frequently. My assumption is that the scene may be just a matter of so many colleges/universities but my gosh, loads of bands, lots of venues, even a lot of all ages venues.

To top it all off, the band that the middle school educator plays in here in the DFW area is playing a festival in Montreal right now? What the non-literal hell is that about?

From here it looks like punks do have more fun.

my last year in atlanta, I managed the 513 club. it was hardcore punk and sometimes ska music. the only requirement we had is that you had to play your own stuff.....no covers.
I had more fun in that one year than a man should be allowed to have.
so yeah…..punks have fun. too much fun.

What is that festival? Chances are i just delivered the beer for it... i like punk shows, especially Ska where it’s all about the vibe and those guys generate a flow instead of all trying to outshine each other and you can definitely feel it

Pouzza Fest. The only reason it caught my interest is that I have been messaging back and forth with a really nice dude with an active band that listened to what my kid and I put on youtube and was saying "Oh, kewl, I can get you shows..." and then his last few FB posts were about going to play that fest.

Edit: Ska is the shiz I am just confident that if I can't put a trio together to play punk, Ska would be out of the question
