Picked up this Construx (Lego clone)Viking Longboat for 8 bucks at Toys R Us just before they closed!I remember building Legos in the 70s when I was a kid but this is a whole different animal!995 pieces and many different types too!I find that using a medium sized Fishing tackle box is great for sorting and organizing the many parts.Progress thus far is going well...[IMG]

Me! Gotta be the real thing but used it since I was a kid. Now build kits with the grandchildren. Want to get the Empire State but it’s expensive and big!

    Lost
I used to have a huge box full of Lego Blocks when I was a kid and always wanted to buy them for my kids but I lost interested in them because of they kind of went away from the basic set and leaned towards what you are showing. Very cool regardless.

    My house.
I was a lego nut as a kid. Loved it.

Gave it all away one day to another, younger kid.

My boys loved lego too but, the sets are too planned out now.

That said, I wanted planned out sets as a kid. My parents wouldnt buy em.

My oldest had a star wars Corellian star cruiser at one point. That was his biggest kit.

My son and I used to build them but it would break my heart because we would bust ass building a big lego kit and then he would happily tear it apart to use the pieces for other stuff. It was an OUTRAGE!!

Every year for Christmas I got a big set- always a spaceship or colony.

Must have built couple dozen smaller sets (rockets, smaller spaceships, the single grey panel lunar landscape ones with a smaller building).

Put together to form a decent sized colony.

Was so into it that I bought a Death Star, which I used to have sitting on my highboy chest of drawers- wasted space up there. Too high to put every day items on so I had my Death Star.

When my folks sold that house I wanted them to save my LEGOs, Matchbox/Hotwheels collections, and Atari 2600 with about 25 games (including Custers Last Stand- pretty rare and valuable now).

    They didn’t.

LEGOs were one of my favorite toys when I was a kid. We kept the legos in the family, and my nephews played with them when I got older. I still like building things with that kind of toy, though I rarely do these days. I'd rather not have them sitting around taking up space. But several years ago I bought one of these Lego Back to the Future Delorean sets:

I've seen some Star Wars sets in the past (R2-D2, etc.) that I had thought about buying, and I've heard of people buying sets of Lego parts and designing and building their own things, but I'm not sure if I'd want to spend money on that kind of thing right now. And I'd have to find room to store all of it..

Only with the 7 year old grandson. Damn things drive us both crazy. Some of the pieces are so little.

I used to find it kind of morbid when I would be cleaning and come across incomplete bodies and amputated legs and tiny hand still clutching blasters.
