Sundown’s on my to-do list!
Then there are the drummers that sing...
Now wait a minute, young lady! At Santa Rosa, I sat behind the keyboard right in front of you on the stage and I watched you do solo acoustic Neil Young with only a lyric sheet on a music stand.
You were spot on and made no mistakes.
As I suspected...
Thanks! But to get to that point, I had to work awhile to get the chorus down.
I would say "Pardon my French" but that doesn't work on you...
So effing what? I mean seriously. An old friend on Facebook a while back who plays guitar said something about "Oh, I thought you could just play everything without a lot of effort" after I mentioned how much I have to shed to learn stuff. How many reps. I assume there are some out there who don't have to, but for most of us, it's kinda brutal hard work at times. That part never ends. Hell, I was just on the drumset for 20 minutes working on technique. It's really hard.
I never said I couldn’t sing and play. I said it depends - some songs are easier than others, some have tricky bits, some are doable with a lot of work, some are (for me) nigh impossible.
Pretty much what everyone else is saying.
That particular one had a tricky bit. But I got it.
Oh. I read your post in a gripe-ish tone for some reason. Oh well....
Well, I do gripe a lot...
Not as much as I do.
St. James Infirmary
Just love it...
I can't do it for 99% of songs. The syllables and beats better line up perfectly or all of sudden I'm juggling.
Finger style with alternating bass and singing will never happen for me.
I just tried Sundown. That's a fun one!
I can't do it.
I can't sing at all, period.

All this Gordo-talk had me playing and singing along with the Sundown album last night.
