My ex is moving and clearing out a bunch of crap. She called me and asked if I wanted my son's old Epipone SG Special and Line 6 Spider III amp I gave him for Christmas 10 years ago (he played for a bit and never bonded with it....he's now 21). Will probably sell the amp but might do something with the guitar.

I brought it home, buffed it up (there were actually spider webs all over it with the expected dust buildup), and I'm wondering what to do with it. Thinking about P90s or new humbuckers. Also needs a new switch and jack, may try upgrading pots as well (never done any of this on any guitar).

Or should I unload it and put the money towards something else.

One of these was my first attempt at mods. I paid too much for it. 75$ But a fun project.

I'd aim high, dream big . You can't hurt this guitar. Make all the mods and upgrades you ever dreamed about. 4 lead humbuckers, push pull pots. But if don't have a P90 Gibby this is your chance . That's cool too.

    I would go P90 route.

Dragonfire pickups are really affordable, and I have never been disappointed in any pickups I've received from them.

Lots of color choices, and cheaper than GFS.
These in chrome and gold are my favorites.

As far as the pots, I personally wouldn't mess with any of the wiring unless it is giving you issues. Contact cleaner has fixed any pot issues I've ever had, besides when the pots are dead.
