I can hear that Joyce is really pushing towards the lower end of her range, but she still manages to sound so good!

And who did the guitar solos on that one? :thumb:

I could tell! Names: Joyce vocals, Bruno drums, Nanda bass, first solo - @nutball73, second solo - @felis, echoey bits throughout - @2-Finger

(I think, from the direction Joyce is looking)

Yes, I was standing on the right (camera viewpoint), doing my silly moves. :D

I forward @simoncroft's vids to some of my friends. They don't usually comment but enjoy (I hope o_O:D), and give these jam moments a 'thumbs up' or 'cool'.
This time one (almost immediately) got back to me and said "the Lady has such a lovely voice it moved me, please tell her that for me".
@Malurkey, you pass it along, please? :thumb:

I don't actually know what this one is called, but if you let me know, I'll do my best to change it.

@Malurkey on vocals, Nanda on bass, Bruno on drums, @felis on rhythm (I think) and me cocking up the second solo by switching off distortion...

    Sing!

Joyce vocals, Mathieu drums, Nanda bass, @2-Finger and @felis on guitars, with me doing a poor banjo impression...

Cheers, Graham. I've fixed it. There could be a fair bit of that happening because I'm not familiar with some of the songs. Hence, Better Run Like a Beagle is next up. :D

People who are supposed to know tell me that too much distortion makes it hard to hear a solo. Cleaner sounds "pop".

Yeah but when switching it off kills feel, sustain and volume, it's not great!

These things are all relative but there is science to that. The further the signal goes into distortion, the more the top of the waveform 'clips' until it gets close to the square waveform you get from a classic fuzz box. That in turns means there is reduced 'dynamic range', and also the 'transient peak' at the very start of the note starts to be lost. (In other words, the initial 'thwack' gets flattened out.)

On the other hand, try playing Black Sabbath through a clean Tele into a Fender Twin...
