Is there a way to find out a strats model through the serial nimber? I'm being offered a strat with serial starting MZ62.. which tells that it's a 2006 MIM but the seller does not know the exact model. It's not a standard because of the truss-rods adjusement placement (neck heel) and it has a maple fretboard - a classic 50s maybe?

You can go to the Fender website and look for the customer sevice link. They usually will reply to email inquiries pretty quick. I know the Deluxe has a D in the serial, not sure on the other models. Definately a MIM '06 though.

On varmaan näpelöity samaa kitaraa. Oliko se tämä? Hyvä peli. Osta pois ennen kuin muutan mieleni. Kävin testaamassa uusia classic 50's stratoja. Kaula on hieman erilainen. Uusissa V loivenee huomattavasti kaulaa ylöspäin mennessä. Nauhatkin olivat isommat, mutta hyvä kitara.

Sama vehje, ostan pois, noita soft-v kauloja kun on aika harvoissa Fenderin malleissa. Myyjä vaan ei oikein tiennyt mikä malli on kyseessä...

if i'm reading the broken translation right, there's something in there about a v neck. there are a couple of mexican fender models that have a v neck.

If you have the whole serial number you could put it through the guitar dater project here....

you don't even need the entire serial number to use that crap. just the letter, first number of the serial and enough random numbers to make it long enough and it'll tell you the year, which in this case is 2006.
