Hmmmm. Good? Bad? Ugly?
I can't think why it could possibly be bad. It's a good thing, Bigsby lives on under the Fender leadership.
Not nearly as bad as "Bestbuy acquires Fender"
If it's profitable, then "why not"
Just as long as they're not buying it to watch it die.
Hah! Now all those Gibsons with a Bigsby will now have a little "Bigsby By Fender" thing on it somewhere!
No, it will clearly read "Gibson", "Bigsby" or nothing at all.
Or, Gretsch. Oh, the horror...
I like a little Tele action with a Bigsby!
Would be funny tho!
It would but the reason I posted that is because I was Service Coordinator for Gibson in Canada in the mid 70s. Any of that licensed stuff was cast as "Gibson". Oh the parts, parts, parts I saw every day!
Some Best Buy locations were selling guitars & a selection of synthesizers for a while. A Best Buy near me had an additional room set aside for guitars, which looked like a small musical insrument store. That apparently didn't work out well for Best Buy though, and they stopped doing that.
I wonder if Fender would ever buy Gibson?
well, there goes the neighborhood.
I thought @The Strat Dude bought out Bigsby.
I do feel like a share holder , they however did not consult with me on this move. I do give the Strat Dude stamp of approval, hopefully more Tele's will come with them .
More Tele's with equipped with a Bigsby...yum!
As long as they don't try to put them on anything other than Teles.
Don't see this as a bad thing though. Fender already had them under Gretsch...
Yeah, I just hope they don't screw it up.
Ry Cooder Signature Stratocaster in 3... 2...
(One can only hope)
Don't stay in tune too well but are very cool on hollow bodies.
