This guy has undoubtedly sold more Gretsch guitars with Bigsbys than anybody since Chet and George.

Yes he has. For me, he's the best advert for Gretches & Bigsbys since Eddie Cochran. The Strat Cats were a great live band, back in the day.

My Gretsch Country G back in 65 68 would immediately go out of tune with it. But it looked so cool.
Recently met a guy playing at a wedding with an Old ES 335 that had a stop bridge and a Tune O Matic. I told him I recognized the the bolt holes for the Bigsby. He told it drove him crazy with tuning so he changed it. Then he said it really looked cool, though.

Cumbersome reminds me of cummerbund. Both serve the same purpose.

Maybe he thought people were smart enough to use one of these and the two hands they have:

Maybe I'l create my own company for making trems & such, called Littlesby (or Smallsby). I've also thought about creating such companies as Buttbook, MeTube, and YourSpace.

As in Benedict Cummerbund? Or was it Benadryl Cabbagepatch? Or Wimbledon Tennismatch? Oh wait...

Maybe that shouldn't be necessary? That was clearly Leo's philosophy.

The answer to making a Bigsby easy to string is...wasy. Press out the pins, drill holes.

I did say the Strat vibrato is the King. :D

If he did, wouldn't every Bigsby-equipped guitar come with one? Clearly an afterthought fix.
