I cant believe we haven't got a SCXD club on this site! Our fellow TDPRI site has over 49 pages on their club.

Anyway I just got mine used and love it, it really is leaving up to the hype, amazing amp got it near mint for 180euro, looks good too.

I am going to adjust the bias next week and will let you know how that goes.

Come on SCXD owners join the club! post pics. :p

I just gotta say, wow! Wife and kid just went out, plugged in the strat, threw on a backing track and cranked this sucker up and it sounded like heaven. Either I'm having a really long honeymoon period with it or it just really kicks some butt. Sweet spot is about 5 on the clean channel with a hardwire sc-2 pedal In front and it was screaming!

I had not purchased a new amp in almost 18 years. When I shopped around, trying MANY similar small tube/modeling amps, there was no comparison, the SCXD was head and shoulders above all the amps in the price point and most at the NEXT price point.

The stock speaker is OK, but it really shines with an old 70's vintage JBL 10" installed. Clear, clean, loud enough, and more than enough great tones.

You can see the JBL's metal cap if you look carefully.

The vibro is true class A and has a smaller speaker.

does the solid state rectifier make the champ a class AB?

No, the 12ax7 in the super is used as a phase inverter for an otherwise solid state preamp, the vibro has the distortions, then a tube preamp, then the effects then a tube power amp.

Lately, I've been alternating between Ch. 1 for clean sounds, and Voice 3 for Clapton sounds.

Played live last night with mine and never turned up past five. Got a lot of compliments on my sound as well. Just clean channel, bit of reverb and a digitech sc-2 valve distortion pedal. All I needed.

    My house.
I'm in. Love mine. Its got JJ tubes and a Ragin Cajun speaker as per Billm recommendations. The ragin cajun is a little less Fendery. In other words its got some more mids. This is perfect for my needs. I also recently scored a 1x12 cab for bigger gigs. I may upgrade the speaker in the 1x12 at some point. It seemed a little big on bottom and top but not enough mids last time I gigged with it. Plus I beleive its not as loud as the ragin cajun. I'm still stewing on that.

Love mine too ! Just put in the rajin Cajun and all new tung-sol tubes, and biased. The amp is a little brighter and has more clarity and pop. Well worth the money if your picky like me. If not the amp sound fine stock.

    Wow! A left-handed SuperChamp! :D
Curious about the single footswitch, does it control channel switching or effects(or something else)?

I like my old SCXD so well I bought a spare when they were blowing them out for $199-just couldn't bear the thought of the old one going south and not be able to replace it. I like the Weber AlNiCo Sig10S in this amp, not too much louder , sounds great, and retains that BF vibe on channel 1.
