Just noticed how woupely my beautiful, (or so I thought), Fender tweed case is getting. I more and more suspect it is just fabric material wrapped around foam, with maybe no stiff plywood type material in-between, or if there is, it can't be much. I am careful with my cases, loading in and out of vehicles, where I put them so they don't get walked on, etc. Seems it is not even structurally sound enough to be left with a stack of other cases on top of it without showing signs of squishing.

SO I guess it's like the Northern Pike's song, She ain't pretty, she just looks that way - at least for awhile. DSC09957.JPG

Fender put their name on that? Where is it manufactured?

I have the exact same issue. Case very rarely leaves the house. Every one of my other cases are flawless.

Other strat case is "pro series" whatever that means but it is flawless. Same age and use.

If you look closely, I don't think they did actually put their name on it!

I use el cheapo MF's hard cases. The black one has taken a beating from baggage handlers. The tweed one still looks good after 2+ years. None of what you picture.... man!

This case is less than three years old. Yes Vietnam, but fender names all over it. Just plain junk. WIN_20171110_06_43_58_Pro.jpg WIN_20171110_06_44_41_Pro.jpg WIN_20171110_06_44_46_Pro.jpg WIN_20171110_06_45_11_Pro.jpg

Their name is on it, and in it. It does however say polyfoam, guess even with FMIC you have to read the fine print.

If this is the Pro Series, I guess the amateur series is their gigbag.

So I was going to buy one of these Fender Tweed cases for my Strat considering I went through Hurricane Irma and don't own a case.

My friend Cesar Blues Guitar on YouTube said don't buy this case, anything would be better. His American Telecaster came with one and it's all dimpled.

When he said anything would be better I bought a $69 Stratosphere Case and I must say it's awesome. I'm glad I didn't buy the Fender Tweed.

I even did a YouTube video about the Stratosphere case. It's worth the $69, guitar is safe now. Click the red link in my sig.

    My place.
I own a Roadrunner tweed gold plated case for my Yamaha Pacifica. I just got it this year. It is the best case I have ever owned. It is real wood and heavy. Get that one it should last forever. My other cheap Roadrunner case the guitar move around like crazy. Not this one. View attachment 254359 581184000389000-00-750x750.jpg yxdk9tzsp4jo9epq7kq0.jpg

Is the pro series also made in Vietnam?

The latches on the Roadrunner is thick metal gold plated. Nothing is cheap about the case but the price. Guitar Center has them under 90 dollars.

Look behind the inner fabric and it's ordinary polystyrene packing, don't know what I expected?

I just went and checked both my Fender branded Tweed cases.

Neither one has those issues and one is probably 15 years old and the other one is less than a year.

Yours must be the "Pro Series"?

Does it have the two side by side pockets inside with the neck going straight between when guitar is put in? Like Elvis V's first pic above?

Both of mine have a gold emblem on the inside door latch that says G&G - Made in the USA.

    Lipstick on a pig...

Fender knows that folks want Tweed Cases. they know they can sell them for a premium.

they know that folks will buy them for the looks without looking to closely at them. hell.. its a case. as a guitar player I wouldnt look to closely at a case either.. I would figure a case is a case and the fabric on the outside is cosmetic.

I wonder how much fender is paying for these wholesale.
