i just got these tuners (heads or keys?) off ebay to put on my epi les pauls. the vendor listed them as tuners that fit "grover tuners." i look on my epi paul and they say grover. no problem right?

well dang, they dont fit. in all fairness the vendor did list all the numerical measurements but i "assumed" fits grovers, meant fits grovers.

the vendor avoided my specific questions, but informed me they only fit USA Grovers not MIC Grovers....ughhhh.....why the heck would they change diameters.....

i am about to put them under the drill press, only thing holding me back is that they are real pretty.

Any suggestions, other than that i need to learn how to use a ruler?

i still want ivory(plastic) tuners on my epis?

if you're thinking of drilling out the hole in those buttons, it likely won't work well. they need two flat sides inside to mate up with the tuner shaft's flat sides, otherwise, they'll just spin on the shaft.

dang, dang, dang...i contacted the vendor to ask if i could trade the items, no response yet...

any one out there want to trade for some beautiful buttons that fit MIA Grovers?

i am looking for some of a similar style that will fit my MIC Grovers.

    Suggestions still welcomed. Thanks

At the top of Mt. Sinai there's this guy named Ron Kirn who knows ALL, but, he is too generous with his time so I hesitate to bother him about something small, until I finally buy something from him

You need to use a ruler, lol.
No, what I have done in all similar situations, and there have been many such online purchases where I am wondering will this fit or will that fit...I learned, to google some forums for the original product/instrument. This forum for FMIC guitars, maybe another one for Gibbys/Epis.

Or maybe Strat-Talk is still the best even for Gibbys/Epis(?)

I read and read these comments, I find one guy complaining he bought this and it didn't fit, another guy chimes in and posts "hey, I found these, they fit perfect on 4 of my Epis" etc. etc. In other words, I use the web to learn from other people's mistakes.

    Before I order something.
See, now, if I need tuner keys for an Epi LP someday I'm gonna PM you to learn which ones NOT to buy and hopefully learn which ones finally worked out!
If all else fails Ron Kirn has the answer- this much is certain.

If your knobs are held on with screws the ones GW linked to won't fit. They're for vintage style tuners with the pressed on knobs.

    hmmm, you're right. darn.
just looked, those are for Schaller tuners.
might be less trouble just to buy a set of replacement tuners

Yeah, I've been wanting to pimp my tuners for a while and can't find a thing that fits the pings.
