it claims to be a 2012 reissue. but I just want to make sure
Sure is.....go here, type in the serial....it comes back as an "antigua stratocaster"
Welcome to the forum! how much is the guitar?
That's a really good looking Strat.
thank you I sure do feel welcomed, the lad is trading for my 2016 studio les paul, now worth around 450 at best
450 quid? You're in the ballpark, a Mexico 'reissue' Antigua Telecaster recently sold online on ebay for $560 US dollars.....that's the only recent reference I can find....
I'd do it! As long as you know enough to check to make sure the neck isn't twisted/warped etc and frets have life and electronics all work, truss rod works, etc...
yeah I know roughly how to check necks, but I am bringing another set of eyes to have a look with me, and I'm glad that the trade Kinda works out evenly
it really is quite lovely
Not to everyone's taste but I like it you only see them for sale every so often Last one on Ebay made £340 how much is it going for.
he was going to trade a guitar he thought was worth about 450 quid for it
If his guitar is worth what he thinks it's obviously not a good deal but is his guitar worth what he thinks, it's not a make I know much about my only Gibson is an acoustic.
I was going by what the Tele sold for in the US....I think that 340 quid was a low one....can you look at others? I'm sure the average is slightly higher around 400 at least.....
Either way, he's not losing much value anyway....
EDIT - I think the OP's guitar might be worth more than 450 but that's his call....
You might be right I only have one recorded strat but a tele sold for £466 in 2015 but they are the only two I have
Always liked the Antigua finish. Defintely a love it or hate it kind of thing.
Love Coronados in it too. But that's me.
Good luck with the trade.
To be honest, if it’s a Gibson you’ve not bonded with and don’t use versus a Strat you love and will play, it’s worth dropping a few quid.
Yes, it is a real one (RI).
I love mine. Absolutely awesome guitar.
Life is good,
Thank you both, guitar came in full working order, needed a setup and stuff, but was good. got the les paul valued and due to the rather intense wear they wouldn't put it any higher.
Yeah I completely agree, the strat plays awesomely, high gloss neck is questionable but beautiful none the less
All went smoothly, thank you
Welcome in Myles. Beautiful guitar.
