Incoming 2012 50s Classic Strat in Fiesta Red.
way better photos than 99% of their used ads.
i feel your pain.
Last week, the UPS man handed me the box containing this, and said
"that looks like a guitar...."
i now own 4 of this model, different colors...
Yeah very good photos of the strat. Most of their used products only have one bad quality photo of the item, and when you email them about the item you don’t get a reply.
Four? Holy cow! What is it?
This one didn’t actually have a photo. I called the store and one of the sales people took six good quality pictures and email them to me.
@Lonn GC isn't killing you. You're killing you. Stop surfing & start playing!
I’ve had the same experience several times. A couple months ago I emailed about a used Epiphone G-400 listed in fair condition for $150 asking what, if anything was wrong with the guitar. I did not expect a reply.
An employee did respond though. He said that other than a ding on the headstock it seemed to be in good condition.
I was so appreciative that he bothered to reply that I bought it. Happy I did too. It’s a great guitar.
I always call the store directly and ask for specific shots of the equipment in question. They've always responded within 24 hours or so. When they haven't, I'v moved on.
Luckily for me my "local" stores are 45+ miles away. More than once I've been on my way to one of them for some item I don't need, when I think to myself "you're being an idiot." In those cases, I turn around, treat myself to some barbecue and drive back home.
Also, the turn-over for quality items is quick, so some other rube takes the hit for me.
yous guys are suffering the same affliction, you know that? i'm betting something is being added to your pixels like subliminal messaging. I'll bet GC is behind it too!
i guess its goodbye to that peavy 50.
I like that.
Something I fancy.
I'm less lucky. I drive by one everyday, twice. And, their used stuff online is killing me...BUT, I do drive by 3 good local bbq joints as well, so I'm stealing your plan, being a rube myself.
Feel your pain man. For me, I am looking for pickups and cant find what I want used. blargh.
"Stop surfing & start playing!"
You do your thing, I'll do mine.
"i guess its goodbye to that peavy 50."
Peavey is still here.
So, you never moved on then?
That's ridiculous, I would hate them for that..."Beautiful guitar"...…...
The complaints are true. But on the other hand, it's pretty nice to be able to go online and in 5 minutes be able to search the inventory of every single store in the country, and have them send something to you for what is usually a very fair price. I have ordered a few things used from GC, and the condition has always been as advertised. You're taking a risk buying something sight-unseen. But you can easily return it, which makes it better than ebay.
The 45 day no questions asked return policy makes it a no brainer. Don't like it? Something wrong with it? Take it back. Of course it helps I have 2 GC stores nearby me, everyone doesn't have that luxury.
