I love them, Juniors or Specials...but, double cutaways...not so much the single cuts. Slide platform deluxe, cuts through any mix, nice chunky necks.

But...I need the STP to rest my hand on.

I really want one or a special. They’re surprisingly kind of hard to find. I’d love a tv yellow double cut special but Gibson only makes the faded ones which I hate the finish.

And then for some reason gibson Custom Shop (even used) on specials or juniors is almost the same price as an actual vintage one for these “student guitars”

some times a poll needs to have an option made just for you.

this is one of those polls, this is one of those times.

Well if it was made just for me, there would be a option for....... Have no idea I just like voting in Carver's polls, plus the "Bearded Wonder" is cool. Plus I have nothing better to do with my time at the moment. Maybe I need to cut grass......
    Carry on my friend.

Nice, I like the sly little burn on our "northern" friends (Canadian and American) that you need to mow your lawn while they are still up to their thongs in winter! Mwahahahaha!

    I'm a sucker for a double cutaway

These are my '97 LP DC Studio and '98 LP Special Double Cutaway.

You can find the Studios for less than $1000. I think they're great and light weight. The Special is as heavy as anything I've ever played and it sounds mean. There is something extra nice about a bound neck.

I changed the pickups on both too which really helped, and the Studio came with a flat wraptail. I put on a badass (seen) but never liked the way it looked, so I put on a compensated wrap and it make a huge difference.

Out here a lot of folks have a bean shaped patch of grass out front...an island of green in a sea of decomposed granite. :(

There is nothing like a Les Paul junior...it is it's own thing really. It has this nasty rude tone that is perfect for Rock n Roll and dirty Blues. The tone sits somewhere between a Les Paul standard and Fender Esquire....the warmth and thickness of a Gibson with the Telecaster twang and bite.I own this wonderful 2018 limited edition Gibson Les Paul Junior and it is such a fun guitar. No wonder why Keith Richards loves them.

Many years ago I had a Gibson Explorer that I totally failed to bond with, and put in a music shop so they could sell it for me. Then a band I had auditioned for called me back and asked me to join so I needed a guitar. The shop owner said, "Don't take your Explorer back, I'm sure I've got something here I can lend you."

Turned out to be an Arbiter copy of a double cutaway Les Paul Junior in TV yellow with a black pickguard and single black P90 - and I loved it. Used it for every rehearsal for the next couple of months and should really have bought it.

IMG_1072.JPG IMG_1075.JPG IMG_1077.JPG Here is my 2015. Lots of folks don't care for the nut/neck/tuners. I'm not one of them. I added the smoked PG and control plate. Plays and sounds great.
