Its sitting in a box in my cave.
Do I have to wait til Christmas to give it to him? Its killing me.
I think you may completely spoil the magic of Christmas if you do, they don't stay children long you know...
On the other hand you could just use it yourself for a few weeks.
Good call! I love my katana head, I am sure he will dig that 50 too!
that is awesome..
crazy to think at 17 I had already been on my own for a year and had my own place...
my son wont have to go through that. I can promise him that.
I'm sure he'll love it that's a great present.
I would make him wait. It's hard yeah I know I am not good at it either lol. But, seeing them with all the gifts and their face light up on Christmas... man there is no replacement for that
It doesn't matter what day it is, their faces still light up.
He's 17! Tell him to join a band. The usual contract sez parents get 20% of the take until the amp is paid for...whether the amp survives the gigs or not.
Hmm, even I never thought of giving my kids a present and then charging them rent on it. Damn.
Awesome amp.. best bang for the buck.. loud enough to gig with too
Well, I was kidding...mostly.
I never understood the value of anything until I had to pay for it myself. All that crap I got as a kid...it had no value and I treated it as such. When I could afford to buy myself such stuff, I started taking care of it (well, better care...I still tear stuff up as I am a certified, registered lummox).
While I don't have any kids, we effectively raised our niece. If she wanted a Katana 50, I'd get her one...she could use it as a small coffee-table, I suppose.
My granddaughter keeps trying to tell me that my Katana has shrunk and just happens to look like the Micro Cube that she's supposed to be using...
I like the idea of playing it for a few weeks.
then you can give it to him and he can proudly own the first ever Katana relic with guiness ring stains and everything
You've got be be sure it works, and there's no loose connections that might cause an electrical shock. It's realyl just a safety thing. You need to play it.
Dad goals!! If one of my boys wants a bad arse (english spelling) amp when they are 17 I'd consider myself a success as a father!
Save it, does he know about it? This would be mean but if there was a way you could tease him I think the anticipation will be that much greater.
SOP for Christmas guitars/amps for me and my parents the past few years (I'm not much older than your son!) has been I pick it out between Thanksgiving and Christmas, then I don't see it till Christmas. Builds so much excitement since I've had a taste of it. Gets me through finals.
We got my 8 year old a $200 dollhouse.
Make them wait-
Save it until the last possible moment..."you'll shoot your eye out kid!"
buy him the boss fs-5l foot switch pedal for the amp.. $30 new as low as $8 used.. he can look at it until he unwraps the amp
Its nice to be able to do some things better than my parents did. Im no parental genius but, there are things my boys wont have to deal with.
Im definitely making him wait......He doesnt know about it either.
Its still just sitting there in the unopened box........sitting there......
