I have been given this G Gotoh pickup but can find no info about it on line
I presume the M would be for middle position.

Also it has three wires?????? red, white and bare

Any info would be greatfully received!!!

    Thanks

    so far......

All I have been able to find out so far is that it's a stacked humbucker - pre 1993 ferrite ceramic magnet

I really just want to know the best way to wire it up.

I've got a set of these -- purchased them around 1988 so your vintage above is about right. I didn't know these were humbuckers -- do you have a link to that somewhere?

I've had them installed in my MIJ stratoclone since that time. In the past few months, I re-wired this guitar and installed a Serenity wiring kit made by Toneshaper.

The guitar produces a very nice sound. It is quiet however. I have an LP copy that I just put hot Wilkinson open coils into and at the same amp volume the LP is much much louder (e.g. LP the amp is at 2, Strat it's at 5 for the same output volume) -- sound difference likely due to type of magnet and hot wiring....

For wiring -- White is HOT, and Red is Return (Ground).
