I tried that with mine but the knob on the back of the locking tuner still hangs up on it but, the hangers you have look like they come straight out, instead of having a dipped area where the guitar hangs. The hangers you have would probably solve my problem.

    I like both.
Vs at the wall and other guitars on a stand.

I have two Hercules wall mounts, but I only use them for my acoustic guitars. I have the same issues you mentioned with my telecaster... so it stays on a floor stand.

I’m sort of a newb to guitars. I’ve always wondered whether or not it would hurt a guitar to hang it by the neck. Couldn’t it mess with the relief, or the truss rod....or something...?

My only consideration is whether the padding is compatible with nitrocellulous lacquer. Even with poly finished instruments. I'd rather avoid hanger or stand "burns".

It's no problem to the guitar whatsoever as long as it's a proper fitting hanger.

    Neither for me.
Had hangers and did not enjoy watching flies romping all over them.
Had stands and too easily knocked them over when half human.
So it's all in cases and gigbags now.

Thanks all. I'm afraid they would treat me like a seal amongst great whites!

They are easy to make. I just use whatever hardwood scraps I have around from body blanks and necks. Mahogany, curly/quilted maple, cherry... the one below is mahogany & quarter sawn oak.

I cut a 15 degree angle off the back to give a back slope to hold the guitars in place. For kickback headstocks like Les Pauls I add about 1/2" thickness on the verticle piece. They clear fine as is but it minimizes tapping the headstock on the wall when putting them on the hanger. A little glue on the joint, 2 screws, and good to go.

This is what works for me. Acoustics live in their cases.

You can get a 10 pack of those hangers from Amazon for $13

Don't use those plastic drywall anchors that are included, use the long screws and make sure they go in a stud.

It says "up to 30 pounds" so LesPaul owners are good with these too.

I have 15 guitars on stands and 4 others against walls or under my computer table in a small home studio so I should have wall hangers but I have no wall space because of 2 old multi track tape recorders AND one of my mexi strats was damaged by a wall hanger before I bought that guitar. Here is a video of the cramped creator room !!

Yep - they're the ones I used. I have an Aria PE-1000 hanging on it, and that thing weighs a TON.

i use the cheap "string swing" wall hangers, you can easily bend the hanger to make it less open or more for the guitars headstock.

the traditional stand with dogs, kids and vacuum cords is asking for trouble like already mentioned.

i play more since i can grab them easy and more floor space is more floor space.
