This was a little experiment to reinforce that as long as you resolve to a strong note you can play almost anything....it's worth using post number 9999 for this! :D

Ok one of my not so bad ones. Hmm no tapping or speedy stuff at all except for the intro that can't be heard anyway. The pups in Fender Select are really good ones. A challenge from 2016

Just an improvised practice session a few years ago. Put down a sort of quick “The Thrill Is Gone” type feel of a rhythm on the looper and played over it. No audio interface, just the phone. It felt good playing it, but wasn’t sure how it would sound on the playback. After listening to it I thought, Hmmph...not too shabby.

This is one of the first things I wrote and recorded. I thought, and to some extend still do, think I played with a bit of a heavy hand and the timing goes off in a couple places, but now think it's still mostly listenable. When I made this, I was thinking of it more as a rough draft, but have never gotten around to "fixing" it. The percussion is me tapping on my viola with a mounted transducer pickup. It's also one of the first pieces I added bass to after buying my first bass - added after-the-fact.

And now for something completely different...Challenge 217. FYI @mjark's proposed challenge for this week got me thinking of this one again for some reason. Anyway, when I recorded it, I hated playing to the track and no idea what key(s), scale(s) or pretty much anything to use. So I just decided to wing it and thought it got weirdly dissonant, which I hadn't realized was a good thing stuck as I am in my ways. This was by the seat of my pants and there's pretty much zero chance I could do this again, I think. I couldn't imagine trying to actually learn it for real for live performance. It has grown on me ever since.

Thanks. I'm at a loss for words when it comes to lyrics, pun intended. I tend to only hear what I don't like about these things, whether it be in the performance, composition, or production.
