Apparetly there's a town in Missouri called Uranus. And someone has launched a newspaper there called the Uranus Examiner

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news..._term=285570&subid=18263235&CMP=GT_collection

Some people are upset. The Mayor said "the innuendo of that title puts my city up for public ridicule, and I will not be a part of it"

Well I'm glad he's cleared that up for us. It's not as if anyone would have ever seen any innuendo in Uranus without the newspaper....

    :whistling:

In 2017 the St Louis Post-Dispatch described Uranus as “a strip mall gone delightfully, disgustingly wrong – or right”.

They could’ve named the paper The Daily Proctologist. The Mayor of Uranus should get used to being the butt of some jokes.;)

I had some buddies back in my youth who had a rock band called Uranus. Their gig flyers always had a cartoon spaceship and planet and the words "Uranus Probing".

there is a place near me... called...

    well..

    its called N word Falls.

they refuse to change their name because they have been named N word falls since way before that word was used for what it is used for now.

on top of that... there is a town near where I grew up called swastika. cant make this crap up.

same idea.. refuse to rename due to being named prior to the words gaining a new meaning.

you know what. Change the name and get it over with...

I remember house hunting years ago and our realtor showed us a very nice house that happened to be on "Uranus Street"....I liked the house but my wife and I asked ourselves, do we really want to live on a street called that? We ended up passing on that one...

Yeah, if you are the mayor of Uranus, a fundamental job requirement must be a sense of humor. Being the butt of jokes comes with the job!

"So Sam, where do you live?" "Over on Uranus Street. It's one street over from Colon Way".

    Yeah, that wouldn't work! LOL

Of all the planets they pick to name the town after. I suspect alcohol was involved.

(Uranus Fudge Factory & General Store, hilarious)
