Looking for suggestions for a set of low budget humbucker pickups for a PRS or LP style guitar.

    - Bright is good. Not looking for mellow, I have hollowbodies for that.
    - Low output doesnt matter. In fact, since my rig is designed for single coils, it's kind of a plus.
    - Something that sounds markedly different than normal is also a plus. In addition to the hollowbodies I also have a Les Paul, a PRS copy, an HH strat copy, and an HHH strat copy, so something that WOULDNT make this guitar sound like any of them (or my strats and teles) is good.

The pickups that are in there currently are mellow and dont sound different enough from my hollowbodies.

I’ve had great luck with gfs pickups. I’ve also had great luck finding used Seymour Duncan’s on eBay and reverb. They’re my go to.

I have a tone rider classic ii bridge pup. Its pretty great and bright too. Tone rider is pretty good and around 100 bux per set. They are imports.

A used set of duncan 59s will get ya there too. May cost a bit more.

@Antigua recomends BYO pups 59 pups. Basically an asian knock off of duncans.

Those BYO 59's look like a really good option.

That pretty much covers every viable suggestion for HB's that aren't custom made and/or expensive.

Have a look at these from the UK. http://irongear.co.uk/irongear_pickups_021.htm
I have a Blues Engine in the bridge position of my Am Std, and am about to put one in my MIM Std too. Great sounding pups, and at 52mm pole spacing they are effectively F Spaced. I sold a DiMarzio Chopper, Super Distortion, and Seymour Duncan JB in favour of these. The Irongears are half the price of those, but I actually prefer them. They do a set called Tesla Sharks which seem to be their most popular Les Paul set.

You can get Duncan's Hot Rodded set for about $145. That's a name brand for a reasonable price.

Schaller Golden 50s. They been around a long time. Nice bright PAF sound.
Rumour has it Seymour Duncan copies them and the 59s were born.

Not sure what model they were but I also had a couple of sets of older Schaller humbuckers I found on ebay cheap. They sounded good.

I actually tried Guitar Madness pickups and I love them.

I have WBL Keystones in one of my Tele's and love them too.
