    Hi All,

Just bought my 1st Strat well it's my 1st guitar just got to wait for it to arrive. I got it 2nd hand and paid £165 for it. It's a 2008 HSS MIM in black, I just can't wait until it comes. I wanted a HSS just for its versatility I know that the SSS is probably better but hey it's my 1st guitar so I'm sure I'll love it. It's coming from Florida so expect I'll have a wait a little while before it arrives. I've always wanted to play the guitar and since my son started around a year ago it has really sparked the interest again. He is getting so good in a short space of time he really has inspired me to start and he's only 12 :D

Time to start looking for an amp now, I was thinking a VOX VT15 but I really like the sounds the Fender Super Champ XD produces but it is twice as much.

Anyway take care all and hopefully speak to you soon

Congrats on your new Strat, and welcome to the forum! Any pics?

Super Champ XD is a good choice. For a bit more a Pro Jr. is a great amp to consider also.

What can I say but Croeso i strat-talk (amazingly what can be done with a little googling).

I think the HSS is a good choice. I just bought a JB JR to put in my strat (it's a small-sized humbucker).

It's great to be able to play with your son. My oldest son started out playing guitar and his musical tastes changed (to what, please don't ask, suffice it to say it is non-guitar oriented) and he lost interest.

Hi, and welcome! from another welshie!
If your strat is coming from USA, expect a delay in customs I`m afraid, and also you may have to pay the import customs tax which could be quite a bit, sorry to say.. ( speaking from experiance).
Which part of Gods country are you from? I`m a Valleys strat player...
    Cymru Am Byth....

    Welcome.

Good choice of guitar. i have one. solid quality. One I recommend as a first guitar....it's also good for anyone at any level of playing.

My wiife works with two fellows from Wales. One is from north Wales and one from the south. We joke that how the heck can a country the size of a shopping mall parking lot have a 'north' and a 'south'? they are both really nice guys but definitelty don't get along together.

That sure is true, us South Walians have a different accent to the Northies, and generally have a less Welsh speaking , more English speaking population which I think doesnt help towards the relationship!
I wonder if I play my strat with a Welsh accent!

During the War my father was a young Canadian soldier.... He met my mother (an Evans) in London...she was working in London but her family was in Wales. Long story short: he went to visit her in Wales after the war and only knew her town and name. He knocked on quite a few doors until he got the right Evans. He was a scrawny kid and still remembers how just about everybody fed him before sending him on his way.

Welcome! Congrats on aquiring your 1st Strat and learning to play!
As for the Amp choice, The VOX VT15 is a great amp with several
tones and effects .... I have a VT50 that I just love to play with.

    Enjoy!
