    I got two guitars.

One is HSS and the other is HSH

Im thinking in putting a a PAF pro and some other stuff in the HSS (looking for a Sambora kind of guitar, for rock and stuff like that)

My other guitar I want to make it for metal , let's say a Superdistortion and something else. I was lookin at dave's murray HSH and he has a SD and a PAF in his guitar. But reading aroun' , I came with the problem of the output, wich I just don't get. I get that more output = louder, but under those statements, what the hell can I put in the neck to pair a SD? I mean, according to Dimarzio, SD is 425 and PAF pro is only 300 or so of output.

would I lose volumen when goin from bridge to neck?

what can I choose for the S pickup in the HSH?

I Love SD I want one, but I don't know how this thing work and how to pair it with something else

    help!

    A few questions to consider:

Are you talking 80s/90s metal sound, or modern? Lead or rhythm?

    What amp are you playing?

Superdistortion, is a very bright/high-middy PUs. Perfect for pushing attack out of hi-gain tube amps. If you use solid state, digital amp proccessors or record into a interface; Stay away!

Are you going to use the mid single-coil in a HSH setup. 5-way style?

if not, maybe leave a dummy in there... and do a 3-way with the two Humbuckers.

Im thinking heavy metal, stoner rock something like that, not brutally heavy and dark metal

Amp, whatever I may find, I own a small marshal of 40 watts, and in rehersal rooms you can find anything.

Im thinking on not using the mid single coil, but who knows ...

FYI, the neck pickup is 'sensing' more string activity, more frequency range, and more volume. So a less powerful neck pickup will balance well with a more powerful bridge pickup.

I think you would find that those two pickups will balnace quite well.

Thanks Dave. I didnt knew that.

Now. You would say I need a f-spaced?

I got 52 mm from 6th to 1th string. And the pickup its a epiphone 57 taken from a les paul

I am not sure of the measurements of DiMarzio pickups, so check their string spacing guide at their website. They should let you know which one you need.
