How do you approach playing the guitar?

    Generally I don’t see playing music as a way to express anything in particular I may be thinking or feeling. That’s not say music isn’t very emotive to me, it is, but its other peoples music, not mine that usually affects me most deeply. Playing music with others is what I enjoy most, when it all falls together just right it’s joyful. That’s what I strive for every time although it doesn’t always happen.

    So how do I approach guitar?

    Play what you like and feel at any given time.

    If I don't want to I don't play it.

    Then ad the challenge of going in directions to see if you can reach it. I find I can reach higher than I can imagine in playing at this point in time being 42.

    Also be yourself and never sound like anyone else.

    Always be creative not to compete.

    Lastly play for the song and nothing but the song.
