I am new here. I just bought a deluxe strat, MIM vintage blonde, and I really like it. I have had 2 mexi strats in the past but this is head and shoulders above.

I also used to have a modified American Deluxe strat and an American standard tele, but I did something stupid. I gave them to my teenaged son. He was starting to play guitar. I had five electrics at the time and felt piggish about it because after playing for 35 years I still suck, so in a moment of fatherly weakness I gave them to him. And there they sit in his room. He is at college now and they are here at home gathering dust. The good news is when he was home for Christmas I heard him up there playing the strat for the first time in about two years. So maybe it will stick. And a young man going out into the world should have a stratocaster.

My other guitars are a Hamer Artist Custom and a Gibson 120th anniv Flying V. These go with me to my grave. I also have a Martin, and I just sold a Line 6 JT Variax. I was playing my strat-y tunes through the Variax and using it for open G and drop D but I could never get a decent sound out of it. It sounded like two bumblebees in a coke bottle most of the time so I gave up and sold it and bought the new strat with the proceeds.

So, I am happy to be re-stratified. You guys have a great forum here; reminds me of the old Hamer Fan Club Forum, where I made a lot of friends.

Favs: Schenker, Trower, Jorma, Maiden, Van Halen, Keith, Cream, Zeppelin etc etc etc

First the Hamer. I replaced the Seth Lovers with DiMarzio Air Norton and Tonezone because I have no class. It is loud. ❤️

Flying V. Very dark brown, 70s style rounded headstock, thick neck with 12" radius neck, burstbuckers. Sometimes when the guitar is locked away in it's case at night I can hear it playing Rock Bottom by itself. IMG_20190227_094938088.jpg

    Nice guitars!!

What's his name? I worked with a girl that had a weimeraner puppy that got hit by a car and had his foreleg amputated. She hadn't named him yet, but I suggested Trip- short for triple or tripod. She went with it.
