    Anyone else?

It not like I can't afford a Fender especially a MIM one. For some reason the Squiers have been good enough for me. I do have a couple Fender teles, one MIM, one MIA but my main guitar is a Squier Deluxe Strat.

Yep. Only better deal might be an Epiphone Les Paul. Arguable...

If it feels nice and sounds nice, who cares what it says on the headstock?

I had a Squire Strat years before I ever had a Fender and it was a great guitar that I got used for a steal. Yes they had a bad rep with some people in the early days, but so did a lot of other import brands. Today Squire is producing top notch instruments at great prices. Phillip McKnight recently said in one of his weekly YT videos about how Squire is raising the bar for components and quality in their pricing bracket.

Who cares what name is on the headstock. If you like the way it plays and sounds, that is all that matters. The rest is just bragging rights for the brand snobs.

I can afford either. I have tried lots of MIM and MIA Fenders but I own a VM 70'S Squier. That should tell you what I think of Squier.

Made in Japan, there was an identical guitar with Ibanez on the headstock.

I've never encountered any real snobbery but more so a lot of positive disbelief! I welcome those kinds of responses because then they want to know more about it and seem genuinely interested.

Back when I was frequenting local bars with live music I ran across a guy frequently that played nothing but old Samick Strats and he sounded great.

    IMO................ yes!

My Chinese CV 60's Strat is a really good guitar. At least in feel/playability/tone it matches my MIA Standard Strat. I prefer the CV pups to the Fat 50's. IMO, the only obvious shortfall of the CV is the dime sized pots and 'import' switch ................ but even those seem to work well.

I have a 98 MIM Squier. I was going to sell it..I have no shortage of “better” guitars but end of the day it plays great, so it is getting a EMG 81 and SA in the neck. It will be nice to have a quality gigging guitar i know won’t disappoint and I won’t have to worry about. Let whoever think it’s just a “Squier”. The tone will be good and that’s what matters

I have two MIA strats, and a Squier VM strat 70’s model. It came with Duncan Designed pickups, which I didn’t like. So I replaced them. That was based on my preference. However, the only parts that needed to be replaced on that and my VM Teledeluxe, were the saddles.

We shall see if the saddles fare better in the Classic Vibe renditions. I’ve heard that the pickups are supposed to be better in the new ones made in China. We shall see if the saddles are made with better metals.

    They are my favorite players.
