My kid asks me to turn down my music, but it's usually so that he can better enjoy his music. It's anarchy.

    Repeat after me:
( this is your homework, so practice )
"Go to your room and sit facing the corner until I tell you that you can come out"
That's the nice method, I used to get beaten when I lipped off to my folks.

Did she ground you, or reduce your allowance? Just kidding! I can relate in maybe a different way. When I'm around my now grown, independent, and responsible adult kids, I sometimes feel like I'm the immature, less intelligent one, that never quite got their act together, (which all happens to be true!). I think to myself "I know I was there at the conception, but I think maybe that's really all I was needed for". I'm very, very lucky how in the end, they turned out more stable, responsible and together.

I'm picturing a scene: "that sound? Oh, that's like my mom, she's like totally rocking out on some old guy's music. I know, right? Hey Mom, could you like turn that down?"

Not too far off (possibly adjusted for language)?

Times are a changin' my dear! My kids (11 and 12) get in the car and immediately complain about my music choice, even changing the radio. I would have never dared touched the dial, let alone be vocal and complain. It's a different world these days!!

Take a hot plate and microwave with you and you won't even need to come up for that!

Yikes, Boomers with just enough access to the volume knob to be dangerous!
