It was my first real electric guitar bought new in 1990 by my parents when I was 18. At the begining it was a Fender Stratocaster Standard made in Japan (they didn't make them in mexico back then).

I've modded it so many times I don't think there's a single part untouched. I still play it, I still love it and yesterday I modded it again. after seeing an interview of Mark Lettieri about his Grosh, I had decided to put a blend knob.

Now it's an HSS strat (in fact a HHH) with a 5way selector switch, a coil tap switch, a master volume with treble bleed, a master tone and a blend knob to blend in the bridge PU when the neck PU is selected or the other way.

I now have the possibility to get a decent tele middle position sound and 3 PUs together and plenty of in between sounds :)

I sounds fantastic (to me), I love it.

I'll get a black button asap and I'll try to put a sound demo

No, they are old(-ish) OBL (Official Bill Lawrence) I had bought after seeing Coco Montoya playing with John Mayall, on the back they are signed by Bill Lawrence, november 1985

The bridge pickup is a Dimarzio Evolution ;)

    .

    +1 approve! Nice guitar.

A little familiar to my mod path...

Kill switch where there used to be the Gilmour/7-tone-strat switch. For a time the G&L S-500 control circuit. Now the reverse Hendrix angle bridge single coil, with a strip of steel behind it like a Tele. Last tone pot operates an Armstrong Blender (SSS->HSH).

they look pretty similar to the L-45 but the blades seem thicker on mine. I think mine were called OBL 450 and they were made in Germany

Cool - I've seen Mayall with Montoya too in Frankfurt in the 80ies (twice I think).

How long does it take the FAA to send you your license to operate that thing?

Thanks, I drew them to follow the upper side of the guitar. It's not like an aerograph job but for a home refinish with spray cans, I'm happy how this turned out.

When I see flames the other way on a guitar like this image. I feel it's going backwards or the guitar is burning on its stand
