    ...or the rough edges could be left there for more of a hard hitting lesson. Bang your knuckles on that bracket enough times and you'll learn to keep you hand away :).

    Never seen that plastidip stuff before...interesting.

    As far as stage performance, "rawk dudes flamboyantly flailing away" can be a wonderful visual.

    However, you can wave your arm impressively AFTER you actually play the guitar.

    So it is this:

    controlled strum hits strings first - easy to see flailing strum follow - through looks good to audience.
