I'm with Borgatomic, I can deal with just about anything (and have) at the right price except an altered or removed serial number. Things that would require a lower price:

    Big headstock on a Strat
    Bigsby type tremolo on anything

Anything that its not a plain, simple instrument: 6 strings, pickups in the traditional way, classic body types (ST, T, LP).

SG's not for me (find them uncomfortable).

What about expensive little thin necks? The Gilmour Strat comes to mind.

Relics. I even pass when there are any dents/chips that are bad or in very obvious places like on the top. Not saying that would stop me if i knew the guitar was truly special, but i never get to the point of trying or buying it to come to realize if it is. relics are just way out of the question. I like mint condition guitars, something that lately seems crazy but used to be the norm ! Still is for me.

Colors...can;'t do em. Red, blue, green, etc. Pastels only, natural or stained wood w/clear finish, burst, or various white including trans or "mary kay" or that yellow trans 52 style. I suppose i could go with certain colors if the price was right or if i knew it was a killer example tonally, but again i never get that far. Some blues are almost ok.

Bigger deterrents tho are certain construction/parts details that contribute to the tone in ways i don't like. Things like double expanding truss rods that are heavy and really affect tone in a way i hate, or 2 point trems which also contribute in a way i dislike. Things like that which I have experienced too many times not to know they aren't for me are a definite pass.

So you're telling me these are out? Active P'ups on both, non traditional shape on the right one and the left one has a buckethead button as well as a coil split, 9v/18v switch, and a shadow tuner (also had a button)

Not trying to be argumentative at all. I love the thin necks. Baseball bats belong on a diamond not an axe IMO.

I also don't like V shaped necks as well as razor blade frets.

First look like a guitar that has passed through a hell of a lot customs and was made by james bond weapon development ... you sure it' doesn't shoot poisoned darts or some?

the V looks like something it would hurt someone if it gets to close to ya' :D

Im more the traditional Kind of guy les paul, strat type and teles ... that would be all. I do apreciate the DIY electrics, Im a fan of "makin' a guitar your own"

Im guilty of putting Sambora style star inlays in my HSS strat

Like I said, a reliced Antigua HH Strat would be the ultimate controversial guitar...

Also, dealbreakers for me are two-point trems and relics.
I can work out every other issue at a reasonable price if I really love the guitar.

    LMAO
That first one and I are truly bonded. No it doesn't shot poisoned darts but if you look closely at the bottom horn there is a metal plate that used to be screwed to the top of my right tibia. How's that for making it your own?
