after the first time i visited LA (1991) i wrote a piece for a weekly philadelphia rag that was basically "omg the place they film CHiPS is real!" and "look at me on the freeway!" it had only been a television romance until then....

It was a great town back then. You could drive from Pasadena to Santa Monica in 20 minutes in the middle of the day. Now it takes 2 hours.

He has already accomplished a lot. His lack of pretense...his willingness to learn...He leaves his ego at the door and pays attention. These are attributes that most "guitar players" lack. That's because he's not just a "guitar player". He has the heart and mind of a musician. You can be one or the other, or be both. He's both. :)

well like i said, i'll continue to waste time here on ST and socialize amongst them that'll have me, but for music stuff i've got to focus now..... backing tracks aren't where i should be spending my playing time nowadays unless i can use them to study harmony... oh rats my kippers are burning!

Agreed and hence my kudos. My comments were not meant to detract from his accomplishments in just shy of two years Chris. I was impressed with Omar's last track post. Besides, it's gonna take him 65 years to devolpe the ego I have, although mine went in the negative direction.

I didn't take it that way Alan. I'm so proud of Omar that I can sometimes be too effusive with my praise . He's become the little brother I never had. If he was next door, I'd sit with him every day and play. He's a rarity. A treasure really. :)

It was fun Roger and thanks to Monte for the opportunity. You still sound like a wombat dealing with a misplaced guitar though. :whistling:

That is very cool Chris. I don't see you as "too effusive" at all - just wanted to be clear. Heck, it took me two years to figure out how to plug my guitar into an amp, so Omar is doing great from my point of view. Kudos to you both.
