Hi, I just found this guitar online, and wondering if it's a real fender, and if so what are we looking at, mim, korea, usa... Unfortunately I can't see it in person. But the person selling is posting it super cheap, it's a girl, who I believe has no idea what she has. Maybe you can help me.

This looks like a late 90s Crafted in Japan ST-62 model.....the serial number should be on the neck heel near the neck plate......those photos are VERY low resolution do you have more or better or can you link to the ad? How much is it??

Seems like it is a MIJ ST-62 since it’s Rosewood and has vintage style tuners.

Looks like an ST62 but the pickguard seems to be an 8 screw 50s style one and no screws seem to be holding it in place.
An st62 would have the 11 screws pickguard. Screws are missing as the pickguard 's 8 holes don't line up with the 11 ones in the body.

A non-original pickguard + someone who claims to not know what they have = fishy. I'd assume the loaded pickguard is all non-original and is the cheapest of cheap.

You might ask them to show pics of the routing in the body. See if it was butchered.

    How cheap are we talking?

If it’s $100 grab it and run!

Girl is asking for $45. I already said yes. we'll do the transaction later today. Don't really know what is going to be inside that pickguard, but for that price, I'll take the risk!

45 sounds too good to be true. If it was a tele I'd worry it's a murder weapon.

Let us know if the sale actually goes through.

Yeah, $45 is way too good to be true.

I'd make sure I had my friends with me- Mr Smith & Wesson, or Mr (col) Colt.

If you come out of this encounter with at least one kidney, you did better than most.

If Eugenio goes MIA (missing in action) would it be appropriate to notify the authorities? o_O
