Help me id this neck from my partcaster. A friend of mine told me it's not a jv. It has a rosewood neck. No serial only the date written on the heel. Thank you in advance.

It looks like a Fender Japan neck, probably from an ST-62. It is not a JV.

This neck looks like it originally was a 1984/85 A serial, and the serial was on the neck plate originally......

Not a JV - and yes, ST-62 is the model

Yes the JV Strats had the made in Japan on the head stock not by the heel.

    Thanks
Thanks Guitarmaggedon. I don't have the stock neckplate. The body is from a Squire Silver Series SST-39. The body is made of MDF.

Hi guys I found this one on Youtube. It's the only guitar I found that has a similar neck to mine. What do you think of this one?

I found this one on Youtube. It's the only guitar I saw which is identical to mine. Same date, same neck pocket and no serial on its neck just MIJ printed on the back.

Sorry, but that’s not correct. From mid-83 the ‘Made in Japan’ decal on domestic JVs moved from the headstock to the heel, as in the pics above.

Did A serial Japanese guitars ever have serial numbers on the neck plate? I thought they were always printed on the neck heel? The ‘A’ serial Stratocaster I had had a neck plate stamped FENDER in capitals.

The 80’s versions have the A serial on the neck plate, I have one in my closet.

Most of the A serial Strats had it on the neck plate
