Just want to see what kind of insurance (if any) people here have on their guitars. Tell us what guitar(s) you have, and whether or not it has insurance on it!

I’ll start. 1991 American Vintage 62 Strat, no insurance.

I have renter's insurance. I talked to them when I got it, and it covers my gear. I buy used, so their used replacement value is fine with me.

Homeowners insurance covers the homes contents. Guitars and even most of my guns are covered, there is a max$$ on firearms though.

I have 2 acoustics and several electric .
They are all covered by my home insurance, and my 130 lb German shepherd.

I have 30+ guitars. A 1965 Strat and 1971 Les Paul Custom are among them. I'm insured by Remington & Glock.

When I was gigging, I had to get insurance through the AFM, as homeowners' policies do NOT include using guitars for playing live.

Now that I am (at least temporarily) retired from gigging, I'm covered again!

All my gear is covered by a blanket policy, with full agreed replacement value for each item.

Coverage is valid for non-commercial use and transport only. But seeing as I don't gig anymore, its perfect for me.

Does that policy cover fire and natural disaster?

I'm baffled how all the firearms will protect gear from a house fire...

    Ha ha, yup, castle/guitar doctrine.

and just in case I lose the battle, homeowners contents will cover them.

Also we have received about 5-6" of the white stuff the last few days and Thursday a low of -11 (yup that's a minus sign eh). So the population is down around here, so statistically crime wise that helps the ratio.

A "Tools of the Trade" policy can cover guitars and amps as well as recording and sound equipment, cameras, etc.

They don't. My well and pump do that.

I live off the grid. Miles on county and dirt roads from the nearest fire dept and PD/Sheriff. And I'm here at my ranch pretty much 24/7. So, I'm the Sheriff and fire captain.

The missus has ourselves, the house (and almost everything in it), cars, bikes fully insured.

The thing is, probably no amount of insurance payment will give me the possibility to buy back my 'rare' TE80 and LS95S.

Edit; I'm not talking value, but availability.
