    hi everyone!

Just got my strat refretted with jescar 6105 size wire.

When I got the guitar I was a little in shock as the fret tops looks much flatter than what I’m used to. The crown looks much more similar to what you can expect in a les paul. Some fret crown while looking from the side also look much higher than other even though they’re perfect levelled? (I’ll try to take another photo that shows this as they look equally high in the image below)

    What do u guys think?

Yowza! Those do look flat . . . but, how does it play? That's what matters . . . looks only matter when you're talking about the body. :sneaky:

Way too flat, I'd be pissed off....your intonation will suffer.....looks flatter than Gibson, like the frets were leveled and then NOT crowned after.....

When your neck moves even s little your D maj cowboy shoes won’t play in tune. Round crowned frets tend to alleviate that problem. I ask to have it redone. Or my money back. I’d be pissed to see that on my strat.

Contact the tech/shop and say you're unsatisfied and they don't even look crowned....

Do you guys think it can be fixed by doing the crown right without touching the tops?

The thing is....well just my opinion....but when the highest point of the fret is not in the direct center and thin and rounded, the intonation point is moved forward a mm or 2.....and your intonation is going to be sharp.....even when you set it perfect at the 12th fret.....

Whenever I use fret wire that size, which is all the time because I love big frets, I make sure that they are all rounded. Those flat frets will cause you intonation issues.

As long as this can be fixed by recrowning the frets without removing anything from the top I will take it back to them and ask them to redo it.
