Yea this is the 'seemingly' logical answer, but when you are after very, very specific pinpoint things, then the rationale may not be as quite as apparent...as in, does outlaying the cash justify those pinpoint wants and needs when you are getting relatively satisfactory results, which circles back to a couple of my posts about weighing the pros and cons for a purpose as narrowly defined as improved tonal results when recording, etc.

    Well then...
As long as we're arguing apples n apples
Has anyone bought or at least test driven the Katana mini?
I have the micro and 100. Head
The micro has lived off 6 rechargeables for 8+ years, goes to my truck seat with little thought or effort.
If you try to make big noise, it becomes unpleasant...
    So I don't...
The head's built in speaker is Damn handy...
Took it twice to an open mic...
    Mic'd it...
    Got away with it...
Haven't yet mated with the laptop...???
Seems there must be some point to alla this rambling...
    Maybe not....
Hey I'm just an old half breed...
    Its early...
    I'm sober at the moment...
    Sue me...

Just picked up the Katana head...At first I wasn't at all happy with the stock EQ sound ...not nearly enough bass and cabinet 'resonance' sounding , going out to my 2X12 cab, but after digging into the 'EQ' section in the software, yea....much better. The FX are OK, though my main deal is if I can dial in the exact nuance of crunch to clean , I'm happy. The chorus and univibe options are decent, the Octave is disappointing..not near as monsterously fat as my ancient Arion pedal (but nothing else is either lol)...The raw crunch and clean options are probably better than the Micro-cube (but not by much! lol)...The advantage is much greater degree of eq and gain shaping, so I like that. So far, all signs point to it being a keeper...I'll have dig more into forums to see what kind of patches other people have made to. Thanks for the recent input!
